I took the 23rd of February off to have a wedding stuff day! Anna, Mom, Auntie, Nana, & I first stopped by S.W.A.K on Main St, Cedar Falls. I had never been there but I knew that they sold stationary & stuff so we thought we'd check it out. They had some cute invitations & cards & all that but it really wasn't what I was expecting & everything was pretty expensive. So, we left there & went to our meeting at Hilltop Garden Weddings. They do rentals, flowers, & planning. I just wanted to check out their prices for decoration rental & flowers. We met w/ Kim & she was really nice. We discussed everything that I wanted to do or wished to do. She then had to put everything into a quote & was going to mail it to me. I didn't receive the quote until about 4 weeks later. The total was around $4,500.00. Holy wow! I did find a lot of things that I could do w/out while looking it over though. I also noticed that the table linens were referenced on there but there wasn't a price listed. So, I called her a little over a week ago to see about getting the pricing for that but I haven't gotten a call back...big surprise. I usually have to call someone 2-3 times to get any results...VERY frustrating. Anyways, back to the 23rd.....
After our meeting at HGW we were starving so we walked next door to Neighbor's Bar & Grill for some lunch. We stuffed our faces & were on our way again. We headed back to Main St & stopped by a few more places to check out some art supplies for the invitations & shoes...you can never forget the shoes! We found a few things but nothing major.
Auntie & Nana ended up leaving at this point to go help my 80 year old "aunt" Margaret. She wasn't feeling well & wanted to go to the doctor. I'm not even going to start in on Margaret. Just know that we weren't too happy about her ruining our day considering it's not that often that we can all get together like that on a weekday. And don't think that we're evil beotches because we don't want to help an old lady out or anything...it's a long story. Ain't goin there!
So...Mom, Anna, & I drove to Special Occasion Rentals to see what they all had & to check on their prices. I think I might end up renting chairs from them. (The ones at the Masonic Temple are hideous!)
We then stopped by a bunch of random places in Waterloo & Cedar Falls...Hobby Lobby, Shoe Carnival, TJ Max, Dollar Tree, Kohls.....ALL over! It was a LONG day but it was fun spending time w/ the girls!
Later on that night, Anna & I rested our tired feet at my house. We ate some Subway & watched Dirty Dancing w/ Ruzz. He just loved that movie! ;)
