Birthday Festivities!

As I mentioned earlier, Steph's birthday was the 24th of March. Nick's birthday is only a few days later, the 27th!

There happened to be a hockey game on the Wed of that week so Nick, Anna, Ruzz, Brandon, & I went. They lost... :(

(Wow...they are all really into this picture.)

Nick's birthday fell on that Fri. We really didn't have a plan as to what we were going to do. We thought that maybe we could get everyone together & head to Beck's but it was kind of last minute & everyone was doing other things. So, Anna came over & us three went to Gary's for dinner. We didn't realize that they closed at flipping 8:00 so here we are just talking & laughing until almost 8:30! We thought it was a tad weird that there were no customer's in there besides us but it didn't even cross our minds that they would close SO early!

After dinner, Anna went to hang out w/ Ruzz. Nick & I were going to just rent some movies & chill but then he decided that he wanted to stop by the Steamboat for a few drinks first. While we were there Nick talked to Chad so he came & met us. We also ran into our neighbor Tim who threw down like $25.00 for us to drink off of! That was super nice of him & considering they had $1.00 beers it went a LONG way!! :D

(First birthday shot!)

Once we got a few in us we weren't really in the mood to just go home so we went down the road to the Wedge (aka Winning Edge). Chad's g/f Amber met us there & we also bumped into one of my old coworkers, Nate Dog, & one of Nick's friends, Josh. Josh is actually the guy that Nick wants to have DJ our wedding but since I had never met him I was a little hesitant. It ended up being a really fun night & now that I've met Josh he is most likely going to be our DJ! He even came back home w/ us after the bar to hang out & ended up staying the night! He seems like good people!

(Last shot of the night!)

The origianl plan for Sat was for Nick, Grant, Lucas, Autumn, Ryan, & I to go to Lamoni, IA & hang out w/ some of the friends that Nick had made while staying down there for work. He use to have to spend the night in Lamoni every Mon for work & he would always go to the local bar for dinner & drinks. He met a bunch of people & was pretty disappointed when he no longer had to stay down there. (As for me...I was ecstatic!! :) So, our whole plan fell through as we were suppose to get a snow storm & Grant does snow removal. Nick was bummed but we were then able to go to Steph's birthday dinner at Tokyo that night!

We first met up w/ Bridge, Dean, Steph, Booter, & some of their friends at Legends to have a quick drink. Steph had made a reservation at Tokyo...but I guess that doesn't matter. We had to wait for over an hour before we got seated! It was ridiculous! Anyways, we were happy when we finally got to order as we were all starving! The food was incredible as usual & I actully tried sushi! It was better than I expected but probably not something I would order myself. Steph ended up ordering fried ice cream for Nick, one of Booter's friends, & herself since all their birthdays were around the same time. Plus, half of the group did saki bombs! I was not one of them but I had fun watching them slam their fists on the table & chugging them down!

We were planning on going out after dinner for some more drinks but I was SUPER stuffed & pretty tired from Nick's birthday fun the night before, so we headed home & Jerod & Ally came over to chill & play some Rock Band!

Spring Has Sprung!

The first weekend of spring was pretty chill. Nick & I met up w/ Steph & Booter & some of our other friends at the Pub that Friday night for drinks. I wasn't in much of a drinking mood so I just sipped on some Malibu & Diet Coke's. Nick, on the other hand, was suckin drinks down left & right! He hadn't seen his friend Derek for quite awhile so he was "celebrating" I guess. Anyways, I finally dragged Nick out of the bar about 1:30 & we headed home to bed.

(The girls! From top to bottom...Summer, Heather, Chris, Steph, & ME! ;)

(I couldn't get a flippin picture of Booter w/ his eyes open...kinda like Steph half of the time.)

(This is Neya...Nuya...? I have NO IDEA how you would spell his name! Anyways, he LOVES to dance!)

(Take 1)

(Take 2)

(Moose Drool!)

(The Pub turned into Coyote Ugly!)

The next day we woke up & met my family for brunch at Gravy's Diner on University. That is a cute little joint! It's got a lot of 50's decor. They even have a cardboard Elvis!

Later that day Anna & I went over to Steph's for a birthday party...or a "Twilight" party as Nick liked to call it. Steph's birthday was the 24th but she wanted to have an ol' fashion slumber party the Sat before. It just so happened that Twilight came out on DVD that day so we naturally had to watch it! We're all Twi-freaks! Anyways, we had tons of food...all of which was super bad for us! Ya gotta love Oreos & little smokies & taco dip & pizza & cake & ice cream cones w/ cake inside & Cheetos....mmmmm...drool! So, we watched the movie & chilled. The plan was for all of us to spend the night but we're all old now & prefer our own beds! ;)

(Birthday Girl!)

(Steph's cousin & sister playin online.)

(Hangin in the kitchen.)

(I'm LOVIN the socks!)

P.S. The weather was b-e-a-utiful that weekend...but it wouldn't last.
