That's How We Do: Birthday Girls!

The 7th of February was Brittany's (aka Bridge's) 25th b-day!! Since she usually comes up to Waterloo all the time we thought it would be nice to go down to Springville to visit & to help her celebrate!!

Steph, Booter, Nick, & I first had dinner at Red Lobster. It was SO good & I was stuffed & ready to get my drink on...which I did...& it didn't end well. ;-D

We got down to Springville around 8:00. We stopped at Bridge & Dean's house first & then walked to the bar. Luckily, it was pretty nice out so we didn't have to worry about driving. The bar we would have usually hung out at had a fundraiser going on so they were charging admission. We didn't much feel like spending the $5 so we walked across the street to the Legion...I think. I can't remember if that is what it's called but close enough I guess?? Anyways, we ended up hanging out there the whole night. We played some pool & picked songs on the jukebox & sucked down the many, many shots that were bought! By 2:00 I was feeling no pain. Steph & Bridge, on the other hand, had taken it easy. Steph was sorta tired so she didn't drink to much & Bridge had been drinking water in between her alcoholic beverages...maybe I should have followed their lead.

Fast forward to the next morning. I woke up about 9:15ish. I felt ok at first. Bridge was making a really nice breakfast of eggs, bacon, & toast. All I was able to eat was 1 piece of toast. While everyone enjoyed the lovely breakfast I was trying to fall back asleep so that I could "escape" my hangover. No luck. I sort of dozed off but it didn't help. I had to get up so that we could leave around 1:00. It was NOT a fun ride home! We had to pull over twice so that I could do my business on the side of the road. I'm sure there were quite a few people that saw a little more then they wanted to on Hwy 380 & in E-dale that day. Oops..... ;-Z

Moving on..... The 13th was Alyssa's big 3-0! It happened to be a Friday...Friday the 13th. Needless to say she wasn't looking forward to it...BUT she put all her fears aside & we headed out into the wintery night anyway! We had dinner at Doughy Joey's & then decided to hit up some of the scrub bars around the area. We first stopped by The Drunken Monkey. It was scrubby all right! They had fun chairs though!! We then went next door to the Karma Bar. Now THAT is a cute little bar! It's really tiny but neat! The bartender was really nice too! Alyssa sang some karaoke & we played a game of pool & then we headed out.

Alyssa & her posse wanted to go into Cedar Falls. I was feeling pretty tired so dad & Diane were just going to take me home. Well, we decided to stop by for one more drink at Jameson's. We sat in one of the little nooks & had an enjoyable time just listened to the band & making fun of the people dancing...I mean... WATCHING the people dancing...(wink) That must not have been enough entertainment for us though because we started playing w/ the hats they had hanging on the walls as decoration. Yup, we're special...nuff said.
