A Little Bit Country...

Alright...here I go writing a post about Sunday...again.....

Anna & I started our road trip to Sioux City at about noon on Sun. We made the 4 hour trek to the hotel just fine & arrived around 4:00 which gave us plenty of time to change & grab something to eat before the concert.

(My view...the whole way! There wasn't much scenery.)

(Oh no she didn't!!)

(More windmills!)

It turned out that the Tyson Events Center was only a block & a half away from the hotel, Holiday Inn, so we were able to just walk there! BK happened to be in between so we had a quick, cheap dinner & then made our way across the street to stand in line. We didn't have to wait very long for the doors to open & we had about a half hour until the concert started so we stopped by the souvenir shop. Anna got a keychain & I got some buttons...cuz they were cheap...& then we found our seats!

(All dressed up for the concert! Do you like my luggage!?!)

Little Big Town opened! I've seen them once before but I had been drinking a little...ok, a lot...so it is all a bit fuzzy! They played some of their older popular songs, plus songs from their new album which I got an autographed copy of!! Their CD doesn't "technically" come out until the 14th so I'm one of the few in the world to have it! (Go me! ;) They were awesome & did a super job of warming everyone up for the main event...CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!

(Sexy man on the screen! ~Drool~ ;)

(It's almost time for CARRIE!!)

She started the show w/ one of my favorite songs, Flat On The Floor! There were a few outfit changes & she played the guitar which is something I didn't know she did! There was an extension that came out from the middle of the main stage that she went out on for a few songs. We were probably a good 20 feet away from her at that point so we got some good pics!! She is such an awesome singer & seems so down to earth! I would love to go to another one of her concerts someday!!

(She found an All American Girl who wants to be Cawee Undawood when she grows up! Awwwww! So CUTE!)

(She Ain't In Checotah Anymore...try Sioux City, IA!)

(Yippy! Confetti!! Happy Happy Joy Joy!!)

The concert was over about 10:30. Anna & I were chit chatting away about the kickass concert when we noticed everyone standing in the entryway to the building. It was storming!! (Keep in mind that Anna & I had walked to the concert!) We stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what we wanted to do when Anna said, "Screw it! Let's go!" So, we ran out the door, zig zagged through the other concert goers, & tried not to get struck by lightning as we made way for the hotel! It wasn't down pouring or anything but we still got pretty wet! It was kinda fun though! How often do I get to play in the rain!! ;)

(Drowned rats!)

We checked out of the hotel about 11:00 Mon morning & went on a search for FOOD! This was like a Cherokee flashback! We drove to Historic 4th St & found a few places which weren't open! I don't understand these western Iowa towns! It's so-> hard to find a place to eat lunch!! Anywho, we finally found this cute like pub & grill called Sweet Fanny's. The waitress was super sweet & the food was awesome! (It's nice to know that some places like to stay open for their customers! ;)

(They had a fun green ceiling!)

(Historic 4th St)

After we stuffed our faces we walked down the street to Happily Ever After to try on some wedding dresses for me & bridesmaid dresses for Anna! I found one dress that I liked but I don't think it's "the one". We found a couple bridesmaid dresses that we loved but they were kinda pricey. As our parents say...we have champagne taste w/ a beer pocketbook! :D

(I'm sorry...I had to do it! We didn't realize that there was some hideous bow/rose thing on the butt! It looks like she crapped it out! :D LOL!)

It was a great weekend & I had a blast! I have to say though that I'm looking forward to a more low key weekend ahead! Nick & I are planning on spending some time w/ our families & just relaxing a bit. Mmmmmm....a moment to breathe..... :)

P.S. If you want to see some pictures of the dresses that we tried on that we actually liked you'll have to check out my The Knot blog! I should have them on there soon.....
